We specialize in Roman shades, draperies and top treatments, custom pillows and cushions and a full complement of hard treatments such as window hardware; custom rods, motorized options and roller shades.
The Louie Custom Drapery workroom recently moved from Darien Connecticut to Hilton Head Island and is a welcoming place for designers to drop in to brainstorm ideas, discuss fabric options, or just have a coffee and catch up, we’re super local, based in Indigo Run– we are always delighted to see our designer partners.
Claire Herne
Claire Herne is the founder of Louie Custom Drapery, a to-the-trade soft furnishings workroom, based in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Claire was born and raised in England, moving to the US with her family in 2009.
After a long career in finance, Claire decided to couple her passion for creating a beautiful home with a lifelong love of fabrication.
Working with interior designers in her own home, it became clear that there was a need for soft furnishing professionals to partner in the process; experts in their fields that understood you and your client’s needs.
Claire understands your vision, she will be your trusted partner in your decision making.
From initial consultation and measuring, fabric recommendations and yardage requirements, custom fabrication to the final installation; she will be an integral part of your team, leaving you to manage your client’s vision.
Claire is active in workroom networking groups and attends professional training courses, allowing her to keep up-to-date with the latest fabrication methodologies and market trends.
Louie Custom Drapery began in the tristate area, moving to Hilton Head Island in late 2024.
